Matlock Cricket Club's preparations for the 2010 season are well underway.
With the start of the new season only seven weeks away, Matlock players have been training hard at Lea Green since the turn of the New Year in readiness for the challenges ahead of them.
The club kick-off the season with a pre-season friendly against Staveley Welfare on Saturday, 10th April, and the 1st XI's first competitive match of 2010 is a week later against Nottinghamshire Premier League side Kimberley in the Premier Cup.
1st XI Captain Steve Pell is happy with the club's pre-season preparations and is looking forward to the challenges that await his side.
It's important that all the players get in the right frame of mind for the new season as competition for places at all levels is tougher than ever, which will no doubt give the Selection Committee welcome headaches throughout the season.
