Cluer's century not enough for Matlock Matlock visited Chesterfield this weekend taking 9 points away with them. The away side posted a good score of 247-4 with Matt Cluer reaching an unbeaten 101 in a man of the match performance. Cluer was assisted by Kevin Leatherday who was also on form this weekend with his contribution of 84 and Chesterfield's Ross Whitley took 3 wickets for 67 runs. In reply, Chesterfield were still batting in the final over before they had reached the target. The hosts made 251-8 in 49.1 overs. James Pipe hit 76 for the home side, assisted by Chris Marples with 74 and MatlockÕs attack of Mark Doyle (3-40) and Peter Camm (3-94) could not do enough to prevent Chesterfield from gaining 22 points from the tie. 3 M Cluer 2 J Pipe 1 C Marples
