Teams
Matlock

We
have a number of junior teams for the following age groups...
Kwik
Cricket (2 teams)
Using a soft ball, this format of the game is fast and furious and invlves
all players equally. Aimed at Primary School children. During the season,
training takes place on Saturday mornings at the ground on Causeway Lane between
9.30am and 11.30am. Matches are held on Friday evenings at various grounds
in the area.
Under
12's (2 teams)
Introduces the hard ball but in a similar format to kwik cricket. Aimed primarily
at players in school years 6 and 7. During the season, training takes place
on Saturday mornings at the ground on Causeway Lane between 9.30am and 11.30am.
Matches are held, mostly on Wednesday evenings starting at 6.30pm with additional
cup matches by arrangement.
Under
13's
Develops the hard ball game to a format more akin to a short version of the
limited overs senior cricket. Aimed at school years 7 and 8. During the season,
training takes place on Saturday mornings at the ground on Causeway Lane between
9.30am and 11.30am. Matches are held on a Sunday morning starting at 10.00am
with additional cup matches by arrangement.
Under
14's
Similar to the Under 13's format of hard ball but playing in the "Northern
Dales Cricket League" to broaden the scope of fixtures. Aimed at school years
8 and 9. During the season, training takes place on Saturday mornings at the
ground on Causeway Lane between 9.30am and 11.30am. Matches are mostly Monday
evenings starting at 6.00pm but can vary depending upon pitch availability.
Under
15's
Hard ball cricket on a 20/20 style format for players in school years 9 and
10. During the season, training takes place on Saturday mornings at the ground
on Causeway Lane between 9.30am and 11.30am. Matches are held on a Tuesday
evenings starting at 6.30pm with additional cup matches by arrangement.
Training
on Saturday mornings is led by qualified ECB coaches and with Matlock Cricket
club having a comprehensive 'Child Protection Policy', each child's safety
is of paramount importance.
New
players are always welcome at each age group and with equipment being provided
by the club at training and matches new players can immediately try the game
withoutÊcommitment.
