Feedback...

The younger members of the club are certainly setting the pace. Spotted down at Causeway Lane on Saturday afternoon were four members of the club having a lengthy net whilst enjoying a lovely afternoon in the sun.

With several players in both the District U13's and U15's squad's competition for places in the 3rd team is hotting up. The Out-field is surprisingly firm so perhaps the great work undertaken last year with the drainage may be paying off. It won't be long before the beginning of the season arrives so anyone serious about playing really needs to commit to nets soon. Things are looking good!!!!.
Bald Eagle – Ray Mullaney (27 February, 2009)

Heh there poor iccle billy no mates, i'll talk to you!!!
Looking from over here, it seems that Matlock CC is certainly going forward and up, an exciting time for all. I always thought with the talent and dedication Matlock posesses it should be THE club to be at .I think you are all starting to prove that to be the case.

As for here, I awoke to a bit of mist and -21C. Snow is on the ground and has been since November. Ice isn't very slippery at -21 so the roads are in good condition, not snow covered and just a bit icy, from the mist) Canada is a quaint place, remember the stories your Dad told you about the 1950s, Canada is how I imagined England then.

A bit of trivia, surprisingly, Saskatoon ( our nearest big city,1-1/2 hour drive away, same population as Derby) is actually slightly further south than Derby. As for Moose, good luck, have you seen the size of them!!!? Hee hee
Jeff Dickerson – Canadian Fan Club (18 February, 2008)

Is there only myself, Canadian Fan Club and Bald Eagle using this site? Seems so, so I'll put up a message but accept I'm taking almost to myself.
New covers this year guys 'n gals. Each can be pushed by just one person so no excuses after games! Seems we'll have a few new players. Third Team will also be very competitive (even just to make the teas!) so good luck to all.
It ought not to be beyond our best efforts to get either (both) the 2nd and 3rd teams promoted.
And finally to Jeff. Jeff, it's been snowing here for two weeks, what's it like up there where men are men, and the moose have to be careful?.

Hi Steve, short leg sounds good, do I class as an overseas player now!!! I don't hunt, still can't kill them sweet furry little animals, besides it's too cold!!! Still tight with giving away them runs I see, avg of less than 3, pretty good for an old timer!!!!! Send my regards to everyone good luck next season.
Jeff Dickerson – Canadian Fan Club (14 November, 2008)

Jeff, on behalf of us all, good to hear from you. Still looking for a specialist Short Leg, if you`re interested! Good luck with the Moose hunting, or logging, or whatever you guys do over the Winter!.

Hiya All,
Still watching and wishing I was there, It looked like scuba diving gear would have been better than whites this year so must have been difficult to make runs.

All teams appeared to have done well as I imagine Causeway Lane was difficult to play on at times.
A new pavilion extension as well, sounds exciting, seems as the club is still on the rise, go for it!!
Good luck to every one for next season and hope to see you all soon.
Jeff Dickerson – Canadian Fan Club (11 October, 2008)

Hi everyone, just want to say a little bit that all the teams have done well last season but disappointing performances from the u15s just let it down a bit, apart from that a good a season.
The power – Joe Holland (9 October, 2008)

So pleased with Sunday's result, but pleased too that the club as a whole has made great strides forward throughout this season.
A new pavilion extension, great league and cup wins for the 12s, 13s and 14s, a good effort by the 2nds, and, when the chips were down, a very solid performance by the 1sts, the win somehow rocketing them to 7th on a very tense final day, played with the Derwent somewhat further away than it was during the previous week!
With a Third Team entered in the DCCL for next season, playing in God's backyard at Middleton there's plenty to look forward to. Roll on 2009.

Well done to the first team for a comfortable victory amongst the paddy fields that are Causeway Lane. Topped off by an unforgettable innings from Derek Randall – he makes it look so easy – the victory has established the firsts in a comfortable (?) mid-table position.
Well done everyone, let's look forward positively to the next season and build on the foundations that have now been laid. We surely can't be dealt such a poor hand in terms of injuries and unavailabilities as we were this season.
