Cameron scoops top weekly award

Matlock Cricket Club are proud to announce that Under 13's player Cameron Higginbottom has picked up one of the Derbyshire County League player of the week awards for his bowling performance in the 3rd XI game last Saturday against Brailsford.

   Every week the Derbyshire County League award two players of the week awards to the best bowling performance and batting performance through all 17 leagues from Division 1 through to Division 10.

   Cameron playing his first season in senior cricket playing for the newly formed 3rd XI took 7 for 23 as he ripped through the Brailsford batting line-up with his off-spin to earn the 3rd XI there first win of the season. Before this game Cameron's best bowling figures were 1 for 28. Cameron is constantly working at his game whether its working on his bowling action or with the bat and his hard work paid off on Saturday to the clubs delight.

   Cameron has won a £15 equipment voucher to spend at the Owzat Cricket shop in South Normanton.
